Just go do the thing
Every January my DMs fill up with the same questions: “What app do you use for productivity? What’s the best course for starting online? What system should I use?”
Here’s the thing. Most people asking these questions already know what they need to do. They’re just avoiding it.
It’s January. Everyone’s looking for the perfect system. The right app. The course that’ll finally make it click. I get it. I used to do the same thing.
But the reality is, you don’t need another tool. You don’t need another framework. You definitely don’t need permission from someone on the internet to start.
You already know what to do. You’re just not doing it.
The person who wants to start a YouTube channel doesn’t need a course on filming. They need to film something. Anything. The person who wants to get in shape doesn’t need the optimal workout plan. They need to go to the gym tomorrow.
I’ve come to the realisation that clarity is rarely the problem. Action is. We use research as a form of procrastination. It feels productive. It’s not.
The search for the perfect system is just fear dressed up as preparation.
I don’t think most people realise how much time they waste trying to optimise something they haven’t even started yet. You can’t optimise zero.
Start ugly. Start cringe. Start before you’re ready.
The answers come from doing, not from planning to do.
You already know what to do. So go do it.
If you’ve already decided to start
Yeah, I know. I just said you don’t need another course. But if you’ve already made the decision, if you’re past the research phase and ready to do the work, these might help you move faster.
